Electro-Optic Research Engineer

Summary
This Research Engineer will become expert in IR microscopy, optics, and laser detection for the development of advanced IC debug and characterization systems used to accelerate IC design development, IC yield improvement & IC failure analysis.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering support for existing optical and laser production subsystems.
- Lead research development of new optical and laser technologies.
- Present technical information of status and results to customers
- Help create technical publications & sales collateral
- Help define market & engineering requirements
- Engage with customers to learn instrument requirements
- Work with engineering team to take implement results on production systems.
Technical Skills
- A good working knowledge of optics, lasers, and IR detection techniques.
- Strong lab skills, ability to execute research experiments and ability to clearly document results.
- Strong general debugging skills

- Ownership
Education/Experience
- MS or PhD or equivalent in EE, Physics, Chemistry or Material Science
- Knowledge of optics & lasers and detection techniques
- Electrical Failure Analysis or Design Debug experience (preferred)
- Knowledge of ATE, IC Processing, IC Design or Transistor Physics (preferred)
Working Conditions
- The position requires some travel, on average < 5%
